Buena Vista Lodge was a cattle farm that changed its original activity for eco tourism. There are 2000 acres of private reserve, for which 1000 are primary and secondary forest. The rest is dedicated to livestock and horse activities. Our activities are aimed to the protection and reforestation of the forest to transform pollution into oxygen.
With Rincón de la Vieja National Park as a neighbor, we became an important slow down area protection for this park. Because of that this area is rich on flora and fauna
The Lodge has kept its rustic and natural style, almost a rustic museum, built on wood and stone. We also carry out part of the agricultural and cattle activity, to keep our guanacastecan way of living. The property produces some of the food, milk, cheese, eggs, chickens, pigs, red meat, fish, beans, vegetables (bananas, yucca, corn, chili, pipian) and fruits (oranges, lemons, mandarins, mangos). All these products are produced in a natural way, without the use of agrochemical or insecticides, becoming part of our political environment protection.
The Restaurant offers different guanacastecan typical plates; including a complete meal that includes rice, beans, mature banana, fried cheese, salad, vegetables and a meat, fish or chicken, without forgetting the delicious homemade tortillas or green banana and natural juice. We also respect your diet, for vegetarian people we offer various of salads and fresh vegetables.
For lodging, a special “A la Tica” breakfast that will give you the necessary energy to be able to carry out all the activities that we offer; a buffet that includes a varied bar of tropical fruits, delicious “Gallo Pinto” (rice and beans), eggs, ham, sausages, toasts and fresh cheese, pancakes, cornflakes, natural juice, coffee and marmalades.
In the afternoon, we offer Costa Rican coffee with daily desserts and pastry. Or maybe you prefer a glass of wine or a beer. Our ranch is located on a hill where you will be able to appreciate the sun set of the pacific coast of Costa Rica, in a colorful sky reflected in the Rincón de la Vieja Volcano accompanied by the tunes of the birds in search of their tree to sleep, or the coyotes howls announcing moon rise.
At night, a typical dinner in our rustic bar offers national and international liquors, cocktails, as well as different type of drinks and wines. The lodge has 80 rooms; single, doubles, triple and multiple, all rustics; built on wood and stone, with private bath, and hot water for a comfortable price.
We also offer laundry service, souvenier shop, satellite internet, massages, a pool, a lagoon with crocodiles and a
serpentary and of course we also offer many activities and tours to choose from including a natural Spa, waterfalls, horse backriding, two Canopies, suspended bridges, toboggan of water inside the mountain, night walks, paths, games like paintball, among others.
